Liz Nugent is a writer of award-winning psychological suspense novels Unravelling Oliver (2014), Lying in Wait (2016), Skin Deep (2018), Our Little Cruelties (2020), Strange Sally Diamond (2023) and The Truth About Ruby Cooper (2026).

All six books topped the Irish bestsellers list and Liz has won multiple literary awards.

Liz’s “wickedly dark, twisted and brilliantly observed” fifth novel, Strange Sally Diamond went straight to number one in Ireland and won Crime Novel of the Year at the ‘An Post’ Irish Book Awards 2023.

It was the second bestselling book of 2023 in Ireland, after the Booker-winning ‘Prophet Song’ by Paul Lynch and was also the most borrowed adult book in Irish libraries in 2024.

Liz’s sixth novel The Truth About Ruby Cooper was published in March 2026 and also went straight to number one.
